  1. Exciting news! Lightleak and an updated Zoom are both coming in the next update of CameraBag for Mac & PC (CameraBag Photo and CameraBag Cinema). You will now be able to zoom super far out and super far in (great for viewing/selecting individual pixel colors) PLUS use the much-loved Lightleak (originally from CameraBag 2, now updated and included in CameraBag 3). We wrote a bit more about it in a post on our developer blog: http://nevercenter.com/blog/index.php?pid=8
  2. Hi Everyone! A quick update: CameraBag Photo 3.x for Windows just got an update that should fix image loading errors that some users were experiencing (a common error message was "pFactory is null"), plus a fix for early-expiring trial periods. Free for all CameraBag Photo 3.x license holders, you can download this latest update from http://nevercenter.com/camerabag/photo/download Happy photo editing!
  3. Hi everyone! Just a quick installer update--if you were having trouble (missing DLL errors) when trying to install CameraBag 2.7 on your Windows computer, we just updated the installer with something that should resolve the issue. The new installer is live from http://nevercenter.com/camerabag/desktop (click the Download button at the top of the page). This was an issue that just happened on a handful of Windows systems, so we really appreciate everyone who wrote in. Thanks especially to CameraBag user Grant for working with us to get us the detailed data we needed! *Note that this is NOT an app update, just an installer update that makes sure the files for these specific systems are installed--so if you already have v2.7.02, you already have the latest version.
  4. Dear Fans of CameraBag, We have big news! Today we’re releasing the next major version of our filter-focused photo editor CameraBag for Mac and PC! This new version is simply called CameraBag Photo (technically it’s version 3.0 of CameraBag), and builds on everything that led to the previous version being chosen by Apple as Mac App of the Year Runner-Up. Some of the top new features in CameraBag Photo include masking (HSV, luminance, and hue-based), 4-Way color wheels, multi-document tabs with side-by-side viewing, a live pixel inspector, animated hover previews, a redesigned dynamic preview chooser, collapsible filter and adjustment sections, a render queue window, color management on Mac, speed improvements, and dozens of new filters. Additionally, the interface has been updated for a fresh new look. Being “filter-focused” means that CameraBag Photo has the advanced tools (including RAW support) you need to make images look just how you want, but in an interface that makes it incredibly easy to reuse the styles you develop as custom filters. We think CameraBag Photo hits the sweet spot in modern photo editing software: it’s much more versatile and powerful than cheesy ‘one-click’ filter apps, but it’s much lighter, quicker, and more intuitive than bloated, so-called ‘pro’ photo software. CameraBag Photo is available now at nevercenter.com or on the Mac App Store. The normal retail price is $49, but it is being offered for a special limited-time launch sale price of $35 (30% off, use promo code LAUNCH). Updates to the new version are also reflected in a free update to CameraBag Cinema, the video-focused edition of CameraBag which retails for $99. Learn more here: nevercenter.com/camerabag/photo Best, Nevercenter psst! we have a special discount for current CameraBag 1.x and 2.x license holders--if you haven't already recieved an email from us, it means we don't have current contact information for you, or the message ended up in your spam folder. Shoot us an email to support@nevercenter.com with your v1 or v2 registration code (so we can look you up), or your receipt from the Mac App Store (if you purchased that way) and we can help out.

  7. Hello everyone! Today we're very happy to announce the release of CameraBag Cinema, our brand new tool for 4K+ video filtering, color correction, and film emulation for Mac! Designed for professionals and indie filmmakers alike, CameraBag Cinema is a powerful stand-alone package which can be used alongside Final Cut Pro, Premier, or any other NLE. It's built around the same core principles and technology of our original photos-only CameraBag, which was chosen by Apple as runner-up for Mac App Of The Year. Watch the trailer at http://nevercenter.com/camerabag-cinema-trailer. To celebrate the launch, you can get CameraBag Cinema on sale for 40% off for a limited time from our website or the Mac App Store (use promo code LAUNCH40 if purchasing from our website). http://nevercenter.com/camerabag/cinema/ https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/camerabag-cinema/id1101039207 CameraBag Cinema's two core tenets are its advanced color adjustment and grading tools, and the fully-customizable presets which are built out of those core tools (including dozens of film stock emulations). Its intuitive interface is designed around easily creating, re-using, and exporting these filters, allowing artists to work quickly and develop their own library of signature styles. Filmmakers and videographers will appreciate the ease of importing and exporting LUTs, working with REDCODE R3D files, support for 4K+ resolution videos, advanced scopes and histograms, and much more. A free 30-day trial download is available from our website at http://nevercenter.com/camerabag/cinema/. Key Features • Advanced curve-based color and light adjustments found nowhere else • Over 200 carefully-crafted and fully-adjustable presets to start • Save any set of adjustments as a preset for later use • Dozens of motion and still film stock emulations • Dozens of useful preset color grading setups • 32-bits-per-channel Analog Engine offers unparalleled image quality • Innovative scopes and histograms • Easily use alongside Final Cut, Premier, or any other NLE • 3D LUT import/export • Supports 4K+ RED R3D files natively • Tile-based adjustments show everything affecting the footage in a single look • Batch processing • Modeled film grain • Award-winning photo processing (including RAW support) CameraBag vs CameraBag Cinema The original photos-only CameraBag desktop software has been highly reviewed by critics and is a hit with users for its innovative and powerful take on photo filtering. CameraBag Cinema is built on the same core: it works on photos and includes everything in the photos-only CameraBag, but also adds powerful new tools for video processing. Both applications will benefit and grow as Nevercenter develops its core image technology.
  8. Hi all! Wanted to share just a quick peek from the dev room to keep you all in the loop. We'll try to keep posting here frequently with micro updates with what we're working on. We've been hard at work on CameraBag for a good while, getting our hands in everything including some interesting new features. We're also always working on bug fixes (of course--thanks everyone for the reports here) and currently on some interface responsiveness/feedback. And speaking of feedback, we're interested in starting a list of some beta testers to try out these new features. Any takers?

    Dead Pixel

The Utility / Dead Pixel feature allows the specification of an X,Y coordinate. It would be extremely nice if one could point at the dead pixel, setting the coordinate. It would be even better if one could draw a small region around it and the outlying pixel was "discovered." Note, there may be more than one Dead Pixel, and thus a little library would be handy. It'd be extra handy if it recognized the camera serial number and used those as defaults.
  11. One super-useful trick is to create custom (and potentially complex) filters in CameraBag, and then import them to Fotograf on your iOS device so you can use them on the go. (IAP required to unlock this feature in Fotograf.) This video will show you how that's done.
  12. You can stack multiples of the same effect in CameraBag, and then tweak each to target a specific quality, for more control over the finished filter. We made a short video to explain how this works. (Created with CameraBag 2.5; interface updates happened in v2.7 but the principles remain the same.)
  13. A short photo-basics clip about what "color temperature" means and how to use it in CameraBag. (From the frequently-requested-answers archive)
  14. A little bit about CameraBag's Contrast tool and how to use it.
  15. Quick rundown on how to use the Color Corrector tool in CameraBag. (Tutorial shows v2.5 interface)
  16. FAQ: What is a "custom filter" made out of? How does that work? Some of the interface has changed since this was made, but this is still a good simple example of how CameraBag Filters are made by layering different effects--each adjustable by clicking on the tile for that effect. All together, these ordered (and reorder-able) tiles make up the Custom Filter. (Which you can then save to your Presets or save out as a CBF file to share.)
  17. Another one we get a lot of questions in about, so we thought we'd put up a general answer. Not CameraBag-specific, but useful info to get straight. Hope it's useful!
  18. This is something many of you probably already have down pat, but it's easy to explain in CameraBag, and is generally photo-relevant. It's something we get questions sent in about, so we thought we'd put a little video up to explain.
  19. FAQ: How do I add downloaded filter sets into CameraBag? How can I get the legacy filters/styles back into the app? If you have a single downloaded filter, it's easy enough to simply drag the CBF into the CameraBag and then use "File > Save Filter to Presets". But if you have a whole set of filters that you'd like to add in, this is a great way to do it. This video specifically targets getting the legacy Borders, Cameras, and Styles back from CameraBag 2.6, but the same method will work for adding in any CBF filter sets.
