How did you get interested in 3D art? What do you enjoy about it?

I was always into comic books and drawing and had somewhat of a natural inclination towards it. I was captivated by the 3D medium from the first images and animations I saw.

I enjoy the freedom and flexibility 3D offers--the possibility of materializing any idea one might have.

What is your typical modeling workflow?

I use all poly-techniques depending on the task: box modeling, poly-by-poly, sculpt-reTopo. Although, since the release of the Silo 2 public beta, in the case of organic modeling it's mostly sculpting then re-topologizing.

How long have you been using Silo, and how did you get interested in it?

I started using Silo with the version 1.2 about 4 years ago.

I wasn't satisfied with the poly tools of the big guns at the time and was looking for something that would suit me better. After learning about Silo on one of the forums and reading about its core features from the Nevercenter website I gave it a go.

What do you like about Silo--why do you use it?

The major thing I like about Silo is what I refer to as 'click efficiency'. I can model in it with the least amount of mouse travel and clicks. The learning curve is the best out there. It has straightforward smart tools that don't force you to a certain workflow but rather allow you to create your own. And of course the customization, not only the extent of customization, but the ease with which one can achieve it. I should add it is also very easy to port settings. Other than that it's hard to single out any feature or workflow, I pretty much use it all. I really like having a solid poly toolset / workflow, sculpting, re-topologizing, very good symmetry and solid UV unwrapping all in the same application.

What types of projects have you worked on?

At Hatch Studios it's mostly commercial spots. I've also worked on 'The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything', a Veggie Tales movie.

Can you share any specific titles that have included work completed in Silo?

All the projects I have been a part of at Hatch Studios used Silo in the modeling stage of the pipeline as it is my main modeling tool. A couple of other modelers have adopted it since, so majority of the projects used Silo at some stage.

The projects I used Silo on include:
         Kraft: Geyser, Pimp My Ride
Teletoon: Summer 1 and 2, Winter
Ford: Built To Handle, Built Smarter, Ice, Rollercoaster, In Your Hands
         Ester-C: Psychiatrist, Pusher, Kicker, Graffiti
Heart & Stroke Foundation: Early Bird, Launch
         Pelikan: Griffix
         Winners: Beauty
         Robin Hood: County Fair
         Toblerone: Christmas, Christmas Print
