- Load a file
Milo can import model and texture data, including PBR materials, either directly from Silo (via .sib) or from other apps via .fbx (PBR support may be more limited from external apps). Milo's environments will scale to fit your model, but you may want to ensure proper real-world scaling units before exporting for the best results.
- Choose an environment
Milo's built-in environments range from simple solid color background to a full-on 3D natural sky and world, with much more on the way. Each is a great candidate to make your model really shine. Select an environment using the environment button.
- Choose a lighting rig
Instead of spending time setting up individual lights, Milo provides advanced lighting rigs for quick, professional-looking results, from a simple directional light to a full-blown 9-light studio setup. As with the environments, we're looking to quickly add many more over time.
- Tweak to taste
Milo's unique setup places the emphasis on tweaking. Instead of spending all your time setting up a single environment with lighting, you can quickly use the on-screen controls to try out dozens of options before fine-tuning.
What To Use Milo ForRender an image
Milo exports to .png or .jpg at any resolution. Because of its real-time rendering capabilities, the resulting image will be very similar to how it looks in the preview window, and it renders immediately. Darkened bars along the edges of the window will show you the aspect ratio of the final render, so you can precisely set up your shot.
Render a turntable gif
Milo also exports directly to gif. For now, we've implemented a simple turntable, which is perfect for online sharing or digital portfolios.
View in VR
If you have a supported PC and headset, you can view your project in VR. Simply enable your headset and then use the VR button (or V on the keyboard) to enter and exit VR. You can then use the VR controllers or a gamepad to move and look around.
Use for walkthroughs
You can also use a gamepad to look around outside of VR, which makes a great walkthrough mode when showing off architectural models and game levels.
Use for realtime updates while modeling
Milo also functions extremely well as a realtime preview of your model while working. Any time the current file is saved from another program (either via .sib or .fbx), it auto-updates in Milo, so you can just keep it open as you work.
