Silo 2023 Released With Major New Feature: Non-Destructive Modifiers
We’re excited to announce the release of Silo 2023, which includes a MAJOR new feature: non-destructive modifiers!
Modifiers allow you to apply all sorts of useful operations to your models that you can always go back and tweak after the fact, and that automatically update as you make further edits to your model. Bevels, extrusions, edge creasing, triangulation, deformations, and more are included in our initial set of modifiers, with many many more to come. Grab the update and check out the video below!

Silo’s initial slate of modifiers open new powerful workflows that catapult Silo into new realms of power and usability. Automatic edge creasing, for example, can be set on a model to smooth shade edges between neighboring polygons within a certain degree tolerance, and use hard edge shading otherwise. Updates happen in real time as you model, automatically taking care of smoothing groups for you.
At any point you can bake applied modifiers into a shape and manually edit from there. You can also configure modifiers to be automatically baked on export for individual file formats. So you could, for example, use the Triangulate modifier to convert any non-planar polygons and any polygons with 5 sides or more to tris whenever you export an FBX file to your game engine.
