We’re excited to announce that Milo 2026.0 is here, bringing a massive upgrade to the core engine along with powerful new high-end rendering capabilities. With a jump to Unreal Engine 5.7 under the hood and major optimizations throughout, this release is orders of magnitude faster while delivering higher quality renders than ever - including raytracing on Mac and pathtracing on Windows.
The biggest change in Milo 2026.0 is the dramatically improved speed and quality, powered by an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.7. We've optimized the engine to be orders of magnitude faster, meaning you get smoother performance even with complex scenes and fancy lighting. Shadows are now soft and realistic even without raytracing enabled (such as with the Ring Light rig), giving you beautiful results in a smooth, highly-interactive interface. For those seeking the ultimate in realism, we've added pathtracing support on Windows for ultra-high-quality renders, and we are thrilled to finally bring real-time raytracing to Mac.
We've also focused on workflow improvements to make your rendering experience smoother. You can now have different settings for your renders and your display, allowing you to navigate the viewport quickly in raster mode while still outputting your final shots with heavier raytracing or pathtracing. In addition to all of this, we've added drag-and-drop file loading, support for more file formats, and smarter integration with Silo—models set to wireframe or ghost shade mode in Silo will now automatically be hidden in Milo.
