Default Shortcut: None

Menu Path: Display > Frame Selection

Description

The Frame Selection command will both center the current selection and zoom the camera so that the selection fills the active viewport. This is useful for times when you may have rotated the camera to a position where you cannot find the object you're working on, or to quickly center a new selection in the viewport.

If you have chosen to use Framed Selection for the View Rotation Center setting in the General Settings window, then a call to Frame Selection will cause the center of the view rotation to be updated to the position of the manipulator on the current selection, where it will stay until a subsequent call to Frame Selection or Focus Selection is made.

Notes

  • If you have chosen Manipulator for the View Rotation Center setting in the General Settings window, calling Frame Selection will have no effect on the center of the view rotation.
  • See also Focus Selection, which will center the selection but not zoom.
